The Music Minor

(Minimum Requirement: Six courses)

Course Requirements:
Music 070 – Theory and Musicianship I
(If a student demonstrates they have mastered Music 070 material, Music 071 will be substituted for this requirement).

Five Music Electives:
The student may choose any History, Theory, Ethnomusicology, or American music course to fulfill remaining course requirements. Crosslisted courses will need approval of the undergraduate chair. One course unit of Music 010/011/012 or one course unit of Music 060, 061, 062, 063 may be used to meet the minor requirement. Music 007 [Ensemble Performance] or Music 005 [College Music Program] will not be accepted towards minor course requirement. Music minors must receive a grade of C or above to satisfy requirement (courses with grades of C- or below will not count). Further, the student must have a minimum 2.0 GPA for all courses taken towards the major or minor.
